Benderson Park Rowing Facility

WRA is working with Benderson Development to design and execute a rowing facility at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota. On Tuesday, officials from the World Rowing Championship viewed the proposal for the facility and toured the grounds in an effort to decide whether or not to hold the 2017 Rowing Championship there. The 17-day championship event could have a $24 million economic impact on the region. For this reason, Benderson is constructing the facility with the The International Federation of Rowing Associations (FISA) in mind. “They see things moving in the right direction, we’re designing to their specifications, we’re listening to the advice they’re giving us and I think we have a very successful chance of winning this,” said Paul Blackketter of Benderson Development.
